Indian-Americans (~1.4% of U.S. population) contribute an estimated 5-6% of income tax revenue per available analyses, due to the highest median household incomes. SNAP/EBT is funded from general federal tax revenues (primarily individual income taxes), so they provide a disproportionately large per capita share of the funding. They receive a very small share of benefits — Asians overall are about 4% of SNAP recipients, with Indian-Americans among the lowest users given low poverty rates.
