@odettebester We are not a hosting provider. We make software for managing servers. We don't have access to your system, and because Virtualmin is Open Source and available for free we probably don't even have a relationship with your hosting provider. You'll need to talk to your host.

Virtualmin.com and forum.virtualmin.com are currently offline due to a network issue at our host. Download servers are still in operation, but Pro downloads will fail as they rely on a database hosted on the primary web server. We'll hopefully be back soon.

@BillMcSciFi No problem. We get it quite a bit. We're updating that default page to make it more clear what relationship we have with the site (usually none). We're just trying to get the name out every now and then, trying to keep the lights on, you know?

@BillMcSciFi oh, but I guess Contabo is the first bit, and they are, in fact, one of those hosting providers. You should start there. It's either them or a reseller that sells Contabo products.

@BillMcSciFi that doesn't tell us much. Level3 is a large network and colo provider, hosting a gazillion companies, including hosting companies. I couldn't guess who the actual host is.

@artifrex @PR0GRAMMERHUM0R And, everything is packaged using the system native package manager. Our install script sets up repos and then uses the system package manager to install the appropriate metapackage or yum groups for what kind of installation the user asked for (e.g. Apache or nginx, etc.).

We've switched the old website to read-only mode while we migrate to a new site. It will be offline for approximately 4-6 hours (assuming nothing goes wrong). You can follow this topic in our forum for updates: forum.virtualmin.com/t/virtualmin-c…

@rhanielgreg We aren't a hosting company. We make software that is free and Open Source. We don't have any control over what people do with Virtualmin...anyone can download it, and we don't have any way to stop them. We do need to make the default 404 page more clear about that, though.

Virtualmin.com is mostly back in service. I migrated the website to a new server; mail (incoming and outgoing notifications from the issue tracker) won't be working yet, probably. But, website seems to be functioning well. And, now I sleep. Ilia is on for the next shift.

@MattWilcox Not a bug, per se. Let's Encrypt changed the chain cert, and we failed to notice. It's fixed in 6.15. Sorry it bit you. It bit us, too.

@WNYmathGuy @iliarostovtsev made that a few months ago. So far, we hear from people about it mostly because it makes people think we're hosting spam/phishing sites, but I think it looks nice, too!

@virtualmin How long ago did you start putting in the default under construction `index.html` page? Today was the first I ever saw it. 😃 I love it!

@JCyberSec_ We do not host any sites other than our own. We make free, open source, software (for managing sites), but we are not a hosting provider. We have no relationship with the site in question.

Hey @virtualmin A site you host : hxxp://gslkorea.com/ Is being compromised and used to host malicious #phishing content. Please get it taken down / patched against the malicious access.

Virtualmin.com is offline for emergency maintenance (after being problematic for a few days). It may be offline for a while. We may end up restoring onto a new server from backups, which will mean we aren't back online until tomorrow sometime.

@neustradamus If you're worried about it, download your Webmin from the Virtualmin mirrors, they're available with https. I guess Jamie just hasn't had time/motivation to enable https on Webmin.com. Ilia and Joe are building a new site for Webmin now, we'll see how it goes...
