Most of north India looks like it was bombed by an enemy airforce during a conflict and was simply never rebuilt. It's essentially Urban Slum North Indian Core. Most of us learn to "look away" or just resign ourselves that "this is just how it is", or we wander back to our walled-areas of Order. But at some point of time, if India is to change, we're going to have to rebuild this stuff from scratch, so that it doesn't look like a post-apocalyptic war zone, and instead looks like a place human beings can live in 🤷‍♂️

Everyone accepts that some parts of Himachal speak Punjabi and that is respected. What you denied was Himachal’s distinct cultural and linguistic identity by calling its indigenous tongues mere dialects of Punjabi. That is not overlap. That is erasure.

When a city like Jodhpur sees such a huge inflow of foreign tourists, why can it not be kept clean? At least Indias heritage cities deserve to be clean. Even after so many years of independence, we still have only 2 or 3 clean cities. Everywhere else the story remains the same.
