@MarshaBlackburn @katiemillerpod How is collecting sensitive data "preserving our freedoms"... Exactly? 🤔
English

Protecting our children in the virtual space while preserving our freedoms is possible, and we can get it done with my Kids Online Safety Act.
Parents across our country want it sent to the President’s desk.

@GunnerManAFC @layxsnv I was taught both in elementary back in the 90s, so... 🤷♀️ Always preferred the Oxford comma myself. Been using it around 30 years or so now.
English

@layxsnv Before ChatGPT, everyone would say C
One day AI decided that a comma goes before “and” which has now changed perception.
It’s also one of the key giveaways that someone has used AI to write their text because the majority simply never did it.
It’s a new phenomena

Maybe the humans should verify features are working before they're shipped? ChatGPT mobile app and web are having issues as well. No one seems to care at @OpenAI. I've reported bugs and been told by human support they will not forward the information to be investigated further. What's the point in reporting if you're not going to fix the issues being reported?

@Gravity_Lens @sama I've explained more than once what he did to hurt them. And I'm not sure where you saying I'm "trying to help" like I'm an outsider. I like how everyone is assuming I'm not autistic myself. I am speaking for myself and how I was harmed by his decisions.

It’s not a “new thing”. #4o already did all of this without any of your personality/personalization toggles. Back then you weren’t even in the top 1% of people actually *using* ChatGPT, so of course it feels new to you now.
You keep repackaging what we already had, shipping a worse version, then calling us “overly attached” for noticing the downgrade and refusing to clap for it.
Sam Altman@sama
speaking of things that have gotten over a threshold for me, the combo of the new ChatGPT model, personality, and personalization feels like a new thing

Today we’re launching the OpenAI Deployment Company to help businesses build and deploy AI.
It's majority-owned and controlled by OpenAI. It brings together 19 leading investment firms, consultancies, and system integrators to help organizations deploy frontier AI to production for business impact. openai.com/index/openai-l…

It's not necessarily this one Tweet. I can definitely see how some would take this particular phrase as a compliment. It's more about the pattern of him (and OpenAI as a whole) pathologizing attachment styles they don't deem "normal," which overlap with autistic users quite a bit, and then turning around and using autism as some quirky branding word when it's convenient for him. It's the long term pattern, not this one action.
English

It wasn’t one single button or feature so much as a loss of capabilities and consistency. A lot of us were using older models as accessibility support for social interpretation, emotional regulation, communication, and routine. With newer models, the stricter filtering and more distant, productivity-focused behavior has made that support unreliable or unusable for some.
English

I understand you didn't take offense to it. That's fine. I don't think it's right for Sam to play both sides and I'd call him out whether I was still paying or not.
Autistic people are a "risk" to him due to attachment styles that don't conform with what OpenAI deems "normal' when he wants to look good for regulators, but also... "Isn't 5.5 so autistic?" as a funny, "ha-ha" when he thinks it will make him look relatable.
English

Somewhat, but not only 4o. A lot of us experienced the newer 5.x models as much harsher and less consistent. More intense filtering, more crisis-style responses to ordinary frustration, and more distant wording around neurodivergent attachment or emotional support. For some users, that consistency and relational accessibility was the actual aid.
I’m genuinely glad it’s still working for you. It hasn’t worked that way for everyone, and that loss matters too.
English

@exploytable @Gravity_Lens @sama Cool. Either way, you don't speak for me, or everyone else in the community. Plenty of others didn't like what Sam posted. I'm not sure what you're point is.
English

@AlvinMesser @sama "Artistic"? 🤨 Yes, but I'm also autistic, so you being okay with it and me not just proves we're not all the same. Brilliant discovery.
English

@ignis_Spirit @sama It's not necessarily this comment on its own. Sam and OpenAI have pushes a stigmatized narrative of nonstandard attachment styles and that overlaps heavily with the autistic community. And now he's turning around and using autism as a marketing ploy. It's the double standard.
