@wxornotBG I was 9 years old when this happened. Made me terrified of storms to this day. I remember WBKO stayed on all night( they usually signed off at midnight). Our electricity went off and I remember my dad went into the bathroom and shaved off his mustache by candlelight. 🤣🤣

TODAY IN WEATHER HISTORY: The first few days of April are traditionally an active time around here, as the last couple of years can attest. While a few strong storms aren't out of the question this weekend, that will more than pale in comparison to what this region dealt with 52 years ago today. WABBLES only saw 1 tornado out of the nearly 150 from that day, but that EF3 that touched down near Gold City in Simpson County and lifted near Smiths Grove killed three people and injured nearly 60. If you lived through that day, what did you experience?
