LOCAL ELECTIONS 2026: Will the Jewish vote swing Barnet? - Jewish News jewishnews.co.uk/local-election…
From tackling anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping, to fixing our roads and protecting our green spaces, Labour have been delivering for Barnet.
Lots done in our first term, lots to do in our second, and lots to lose if the Tories get back in.
Vote Labour on Thursday 7 May.
🏡Private renting is changing. From 1 May 2026, the Renters’ Rights Act comes into effect, giving renters stronger rights, more security and greater fairness when renting privately. Understand what’s changing and what support is available. More info: tinyurl.com/m6z9pyn4
Barnet Labour brought back the free community skip service, which increases recycling and reduces fly-tipping - helping to keep our borough’s streets clean.
But the Tories would cut it. Remember what’s at stake when you vote in these local elections.
I find your attitude to voters breathtakingly rude. We elect you and pay for you. To take care of our area: care, housing, potholes, bins. And, as you stress so much: community cohesion. But instead, you insist on campaigning on the most divisive issues in the world - and consistently on one side only. Sometimes debunked news stories. If you want to become an anti-Israel activist that’s fine - but maybe not whilst leader of Haringey Council.
Went to a local election hustings and asked the Labour leader of @haringeycouncil@perayahmet why she tweeted about Palestine so much (and no other foreign affairs) when it was entirely outside her remit.
“It’s my personal account and I will post what I like”, she replied.
Leader of Barnet Council, Cllr Barry Rawlings, comments: “On behalf of everyone in Barnet, I condemn this appalling act. Hate crime has no place here. We stand with all communities and work with Police and community partners to ensure our borough is a welcoming home for all.”
As part of the Leader Listens community engagement programme, Cllr Barry Rawlings visited @MA4theBlind at St Margaret’s, Finchley, to hear from people with visual impairment and talk to residents about how the council can support them and where we can improve.
