Dalam manuskrip kitab Tuhfatul Ajāib wa Thurfatul Gharāib tulisan Ibnu Atsir Al Jazariy w. 640 H disebutkan: Yajuj Ma'juj sekarang dikurung di sebuah gunung bernama Qarnaba. Gunung ini bukan gunung biasa. Bentuknya tegak lurus, mustahil didaki, diselimuti salju yang tidak pernah mencair, dan kabut yang tidak pernah hilang. Seolah-olah… ini memang diciptakan untuk menjadi “penjara alami”. Yang lebih aneh lagi, di gunung itu disebutkan ada ular-ular raksasa dan makhluk melata besar.
