@volschenkh Looking at the citations it does not appear that the original authors have since used the approach. My guess would be that, like many aptamers, it was an interesting idea that produced a publication but had little additional value.

Need some help from folks in synthetic biology or genetic engineering fields. Is there a reason the anti-His-tag molecular beacon aptamer (HMBA) technology has not taken off as a mainstream protein quantification method since it was first demonstrated in 2012? What am I missing?

@BiochemPhD My concerns/thoughts too @BiochemPhD! The original paper does not address these aspects. I should search/read wider on aptamer technology - was hoping for a shortcut answer 😊.
