@ICanExplainEver @cqcqcqdx Yes, V-One has a drill attachment to drill holes for vias. You can then use rivets to connect the top and bottom layers.

Today we received a sample board produced by the @voltera_io PCB printer.
Unfortunately, it has a major flaw: the conductive material applied detaches as soon as you try to solder it.

@MakeAugusta @admiralbenji That’s interesting! We don’t do subscriptions for solder paste or ink. Perhaps the sales team was trialing something, but it was never fully implemented? Sorry you didn’t have a good experience. That’s definitely not the level of customer service we set out to provide.

@voltera_io @admiralbenji When I talked to the sales team, years ago, they pitched a subscription plan for the solder and ink cartridges. I never considered the software being subscription based.

That was the deciding factor, but the price was an issue as well. I also forgot all about the subscription-based proprietary stuff they were trying to pull at the time. This is a product that was tailored for academia because it could not work in a practical world.

@MakeAugusta Hi there. It appears you may have mixed up our products: V-One, a desktop PCB printer (that you likely discussed with our team years ago), and NOVA (featured in the video above, and only released in 2022). NOVA is primarily a dispensing machine for screen-printable inks.

@WevolverApp NOVA's viscosity range solves my biggest prototyping headaches. That 1M cps ceiling means no more failed solder paste experiments.

Solder paste can be dispensed onto flexible substrates such as PET, expanding the possibilities for flexible and printed electronics applications. In this demonstration, solder paste was applied to PET and cured at 150 °C for two minutes.
The system shown in the video is NOVA, Voltera’s materials dispensing platform. NOVA is designed to handle materials with viscosities ranging from 1,000 to 1,000,000 cps, including various solder pastes, enabling precise deposition across a range of electronic manufacturing processes.

@JeremySCook Unfortunately not. The V-One is an entirely additive machine, so it deposits conductive material rather than milling or etching away material.
