@Rapahelz @paulg I try to avoid direct AI use in my writing here: techadjacent.io for anything more than grammar/spell checking. At the same time, it certainly affects how I write via indirect influence, research, supporting content, etc.

@no1089 @root_expression @i2cjak Huh, did not know about any ill will between the two companies. OTOH, they do seem to stay in their respective lanes.

@root_expression @i2cjak The argument happened due to personal issues between Adafruit and Sparkfun. Sparkfun is using Teensy access as a lever. I don’t agree with them open-sourcing the Teensy however - it’s just silly, and as you say, undermine’s Paul’s work. The form factor is not the magic sauce.

New motor swapped out. Sounds a bit different now, which is slightly concerning, but given that it's a new fan vs. one that was very old and stopped moving, perhaps it should be expected.

@ThrillScience Ha, yeah I remember there being a controversy. Didn't know about the mass blocking etc.

There was a kerfuffle a few years ago when they blocked a bunch of people who got upset that they hired an "x-LEO who specialized in surveillance, and even mentioned using RPis to do so" as their "Maker in Residence". There was a whole group tweet-storming them. Obviously, that is not something I'd ever complain about! See this reddit thread: reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi… There's a chance that I got swept up in the mass blocks, but I definitely didn't stick my nose into that crazy controversy.

Raspberry Pi has blocked me. We will no longer use, recommend, or specify Raspberry Pi products. (I'll miss the Pico, but I'll find a substitute).

@JeremySCook I have no idea. I don't remember ever interacting with them in any way, other than to tag them on Raspberry Pi projects.
