@n1cki_editor @imadVFX @k_moviemaker i can vouch, joined malice's editing lair for a few months and i can definitely say it's one of the few editing communities that doesn't only cater to complete beginners, intermediate editors (ppl stuck at the 1k/mo range) get a TON of value from it as well, if not more

I spent $150 on a video editing mentorship program, and here’s my full experience and honest feedback: I wanted to take my freelance video editing game to the next level. My goal was to hit $5K/month within six months. I’d been following this guy on X for a while — he posted here and on YouTube. I liked his journey, and I was pretty supportive of what he was doing. For months, he kept teasing that he was working on something “BIG.” That “BIG” thing turned out to be a mentorship program called FLOW TO GROW. Now, a lot of people on X love saying you can make more money without being that good of an editor. I’ve been making around $1K/month, sometimes more, sometimes less — and from experience, I knew that to make more money, I’d need to actually get better at editing. This guy, though, kept saying he was making good money just by “cutting” — nothing crazy, just cutting. So I thought, maybe he had a different approach. Maybe he found a niche that values reliability and problem-solving more than flashy edits. That’s actually how I work with my current clients — I show up, solve their problems, get the job done. If you asked any of them, they’d back me up. But I thought maybe his business model could help me scale that into more cash. So I was stuck between two choices: Stick to my plan: get better at editing, build a stronger portfolio, grow my online presence. Or, pay $150 for his program and hope he drops something that changes the game. I took the risk. Paid the $150. I even messaged him saying I had a lot of work and would start the program in two weeks. Here’s what that $150 was supposed to include: A course on building a clients funnel Premium private community for 30 days Weekly group call (4 calls in 30 days) One 1-on-1 coaching call Two weeks later, I joined the community and started watching the course. And I’ll be real — it was a huge letdown. starting with the course videos, to be honest it was so boring to the point where i was forcing myself to watch the videos, usually when u pay for something there's a big urge to finish it, but this time i literally couldn't it was meant for people who don't know that they should put their portfolios on their bio, talking about what u should and shouldn't post on your profile as a video editor it is good, but for someone who knows nothing, and not for me, and for $150 it feels like a joke tbh And about the community well i was expecting to find some resources and some presets maybe special stuff, but there was none of that, it was a premium community, but the only "premium" thing was the name you could literally find better stuff on free communities of you do a decent search, not to mention the MrBeast and fortnight raw footage that he putted, the footage that i literally found on 4 other free communities now the point that really pissed me off, the weekly calls, the first week said we will make the call in the next week, and the second week said we will do it at 8PM, we ended up doing it at 3AM, i had to break my sleep to attend it and in the end it was so unorganized and we was talking about some random stuff, and while i was looking for a way to make money with the least editing skills he recommended a course of another editor who talks about heavy animations it was a pure lack of professional presence, and to make stuff even worse, i got eliminated from the community after the second week that i joined, because it has been 30 days since i paid, and bro literally accepted my in the community 15 days ago when i reached out he said my subscription expired, i even lost access to the vids that i didn't even finish watching, i told him that we talked about the first 15 days, but he said my subscription expired, he was wishing i'd pay for a second and a 3rd month At this point i literally felt scammed and i asked for any type of refund because: 1. The vids felt like a waste of time, even though i paid for them 2. i didn't even watch most of them and he can check my progress and confirm it 3. I had one poor call on the Privat community 4. I didn't had my 1 on 1 coaching call 5. everything was so unprofessional and it literally felt like a scam he didn't want to give my money back saying i'm not "eligible" i got surprised by that cuz the guy was in Makkah two days ago and all his profile is about halal money, and he didn't want to give back the money that i worked so hard to get Not to mention that he nearly took another 150$ from me cuz it was a monthly subscription, if i didn't freeze my card, he'd probably get 300 from me in total when i told him that he didn't notify about it at all, he said that its on my and that i should be aware of stuff like this, and when i told him that I want the vids that i paid for he said its also a subscription and i need to pay again to get access It was one of the worst online experiences i've ever had, and it was so unprofessional, with zero value compared to the price I paid, and the only moments he was acting professional was when i asked for a refund. after that he ignored my text for 2 days until I said i don't want the money back anymore, he replied "thanks for being respectful about it" like it was nothing and that was it, literally paid my hard earned cash and got nothing in return, i actually got an experience that wouldn't got for even in it was free, it was just a waste of time and energy, and the only thing that i got from it is to be careful where to put my money next time And this message is also for you guys, bro seemed to be pretty legit, but it ended up like this yeah so you tell me, how would you feel if this happens to you?
