Judy wrote a great review of our app in the May issue of Access World. It is a detailed guide that explains each step in using the app: afb.org/aw/23/5/17935 via @afb1921

ALT: The founders of Voxmate, Gleb and Katja, hold a big check in their hands with 8000 euros on it. The event took place on a ferry in Turku, Finland. On the right side you can see a TV screen and a moderator of the event.

On Tuesday we participated in the Å pitch startup competition for impactful startups by @TkuSciencePark. We were lucky enough to take home both prizes: the audience award 🥳 and the main prize 🤩. We have some very special ideas for this prize. So, stay tuned!

Although we have nearly 20 audio-first apps, the most popular ones are those from the entertainment category: audiobooks, podcasts, and news. That does not surprise us, but we are still pinning our hopes on other apps as well 🤓

Adding a note to yourself in @Voxmateapp is as quick as tapping twice and holding a finger on the screen in a main menu while recording a note. As soon as you lift your finger, the note is saved in the Notes app.

@devinprater @aaron_h2002 @BryanSmart @seeingwithsound Voxmate is like Mobile Accessibility done by people who actually know a thing or two about code-efficiency given how responsive it is. Also shows what kind of speech feedback you could get if you went beyond Android's rudimentary tts subsystem.

@ChanceyFleet Sure, sighted people get like this for fonts. Sometimes I (Katja) can not even start typing my text if I do not have the right font set. I guess it's all about comfort and safety for me. Strange, now that I think about it.

Blind folks: remember when Eloquence came to Android or the Alex voice finally made it to iOS, and the relief of reading with your preferred tts almost had you tearing up? Do sighted people get like this for fonts? Like Verdana, my lost beloved, may we never more be parted!
