@LaF0rge @domi007 I worked for an IoT router/module/mvno company :) They take pride in being the first to release the first product supporting generation XYZ, but fixing bugs or missing small features not mandatory for carrier certification is another problem

@vrmvrm @domi007 This is of course completely different from my impression of "smartphone manufacturers" or in this case Google/Android, who mostly work many layers above the actual 3GPP protocols.

Seems like in their #android code, Google is simply ignoring how 3GPP has specified the ePDG discovery (for #VoWiFi) should happen: issuetracker.google.com/issues/3595934… - I'm surprised this actually passes IMS UE conformance tests. Maybe a lack of test coverage?

When I broke my foot the hospital had me buy a bone stimulator device for $2000. When I was done with it, I realized it was only licensed for 30 days and would no longer work without $1500 additional licensing. I then tried to sell it on eBay but they cancelled my listing because us peons can’t legally sell “medical equipment”. So it’s sitting in a drawer (as are all of these ever made, I can only assume). People don’t realize it but the medical electronics universe is the most locked down, massively overpriced, proprietary nonsense that exists. #righttorepair
