@fitsoccerqueen We agree with you. If you are not assessing movement at speed on the surface they train and play on, relative to how they move in the game then it is guess work. VueMotion solves this problem by assessing athletic movement in accel, Decel, COD, Jumping and landing in the field.

This is why the re-tear rate is so high. Because ACL rehab is cut short.
The girl may do a few sets of cuts in the clinic, but oftentimes, I find these not even close to the hundreds of these movements that take place in the game.
Just like we progress strength training volume and intensity so the body adapts to high loads, the same must be done with soccer specific actions during ACL rehab.

@spikesonly It’s not about the setup, it’s using “Time” as a measuring stick which is archaic, vs understanding how people move. What shapes they make, how they connect with the ground, how they generate and transfer forces
English

@vuemotion The good news is ironically they will need the tripods for multi-camera setups…

Coaches around the world are ditching timing gates to focus on athlete movement quality, because Athletes want to know why, not just what @vuemotion solves this problem by helping coaches understand how someone moves and how to fix it #performance #sport #improve #rehabilitation

@BrianHawkins4 I think the reason why people still use timing gates, is it gives you live time and it’s cost effective. Over the coming months you will see a big shift away from these, with live time, speed, leaderboard and a cost effective and accurate solution from your smartphone camera.
English

Yep photocells are old. But why are 99 percent of combines using them. NFL etc. Gates are still a great tool for flys and the best coaches still use them. It’s all about purpose. We know 3D motion is the gold standard but how many people can actually afford and have the skill set to truly unlock the best power and value of 3D motion capture. Timing gates are an accessible and good option . The most problem is people not setting up protocols to minimize error given the standard of error that exists with gates. Have to work with what you have but that’s not the root of the problem. Most camps are having issues with protocols with the technology they DO have access to.
English

The laser start should be at the hand bare minimum (see right hand 🫱 photocell). Even some slight shifts in protocol can give a player a 0.1 advantage. Seeing gates set up a yard or more in front of the runner “rolling start” and a time of 4.4 is a level of what I call “gross” timing negligence. @Tier1athlete
Coach Hawkins@BrianHawkins4
This year in particular I’ve seen 40 times with “starts” that are completely irrelevant if those times are being used for player profiling. If the times are being used: 1. You should have them filmed for visual evidence.
English

@BrianHawkins4 We agree with you here coach. We are seeing many major sporting teams now moving away from timing gates.
English

@BrianHawkins4 The red line is where the beam trips on the gate, The green line is where it should be if you want it to be accurate. Too much variation when it is a game of inches.

English

Classic Camp Series Combine May 10 - PA
5-10-5 - In Beam Start (Laser to laser timing)
📍Once the photocell is impeded by the player the gate becomes "Armed".
📍Timing starts once the player "exits" and the photocell beam is not blocked and hits the reflector.
📍There are 2 splits that are recorded along with the final time. You can use these splits to calculate Change of Direction Deficit (10 yard split will be used from the 40 Yd sprint)
📍We will film the 2nd - 180 degree turn @EatSleepTrain_
Key protocol point is ensuring players touch the line at each 180 degree turn. In addition, start protocol will be a 3-point stance with the photocell beam midline.
@ShotByLJay18 @WRCoachVannucci @PRZCaleb @NextGen_Logic @MattWaldman @JordanGush @MarkHoover71 @JoeMento
English

@BrianHawkins4 Still way too much variation. If we want accuracy then the technology Is available. Photocells are old technology.
We are not telling you something you don’t already know.
English

@vuemotion For use of comparative data to NFL combine, 3D motion precision is apples 🍎. Have to keep the same protocols and methods the same for football evaluation which is oranges 🍊. Photocells can also easily be placed on the back foot. 🦶.
