The biggest mistake Muslims made at the height of anti-Islam sentiment was failure to characterize this issue as a sectarian conflict. A far better argument than this would have been: that's their interpretation and their sect, and neither one aligns with ours. These people hate the way we read the religion and want us dead for it, exactly as they want you dead. We reject their reading of our own faith, and lumping us together because we share the "Muslim" label makes about as much sense as assuming Protestants hold to Orthodox theology on the grounds that both are Christian. Rather than take this approach, however, Muslims chose to describe Islam as monolithic and that its sole proper interpretation contained absolutely no variance in practice. From that point forward, purity spirals developed with "ISIS aren't real Muslims, they don't practice the religion correctly." But this stance was indefensible from the start. Why? Because ISIS and other Jihadi groups continues to engage in violence and murder under the banner of Islam. But it also gave the Anti-Islam side effectively control of the courtroom because once you concede that there exists only one true form of Islam, you have automatically ceded authority to debate who represents it and you do so from a defensive posture while those claiming the most extreme forms of violence can define your religion for the public at large. Characterizing this whole thing as a sectarian conflict avoids all of these issues. That doesn't mean a Muslim can't argue for why they believe their sect and creed is the correct one, there simply needs to be an acknowledgment that a religion comprised of 2 billion followers includes significant disagreements among adherents concerning how their religion should be interpreted. It also cleanly establishes a line for other Muslim groups who are also targeted by the Jihadis, like Sufis, to not be caught in the crossfire and associated with them.

First, leftists tell you to “wait until the facts are established” and not jump to conclusions after such attacks because doing so would be dangerous misinformation. Once the perpetrator has been identified, however, the left is quick to insist that this is merely another isolated incident and that the worst thing one could do now is generalising non-European migrants or point out broader trends supported by well-established data since that would polarise society and lead to tribalism. Now that fewer and fewer people believe their bullshit, many German leftists have resorted to conspiracy theories as a last-ditch attempt to avoid confronting the consequences of the migration policies they have supported. Their unwillingness to admit they were wrong outweighs their willingness to protect their own people. The only positive consequence is that, by remaining ignorant and petty, they are burying their own political future.

Who is the patriot: - Petty nationalist who sells European secrets to Russia and helps China sell Chinese cars (see below) - Pan-Europeans who want a strong Europe that onshores, protects its industry, gets rid of intra-European bureaucratic and financial barriers. You decide.

The very concept of the success is deeply immoral. If you are successful the other is loser. We shouldn’t accept it. We should prosper or suffer together. Otherwise it is satanic.

Europe cannot be built on values only. And Alberto proves it. Values and beliefs change. All the time. Society progresses, new problems arise and new solutions must be found. A Europe built on values is not Europe at all — as it'd merely be a political organisation of like minded political actors that just happen to call themselves "European". Why not invite Japan? Why not Cap Verde? Anyone can be European if it's just a value. And if everyone can join such a Europe, it's not "Europe" at all. A true united Europe can only be built on a common history, on a common civilisation. Because this is what will always unite us, even as our values and ideas change, our common history will remain. Our institutions cannot be built on something as temporal as values, but on the desire that European civilisation should face threats together. For people like Alberto Alemanno and even Emmanuel Macron, Europe is an "idea". The return hub legislation, because it doesn't fit with their idea of Europe, is thus "not European". An utterly absurd proposition on its face, but one they have to inevitably defend due to their distorted idea of Europe. What we represent is building the REAL Europe. A Europe that will remain European even as values, ideas and principles change. A Europe that will last and defend us and our interests in the face of adversity.
Alberto Alemanno 🇪🇺@alemannoEU

This is the last taboo waiting to be broken in Europe: the Socialists, Liberals and Greens can no longer keep supporting the European People's Party. Their Grand Coalition no longer serves European integration or European democracy. Mainstream pro-EU parties face a choice at the Parliament's midterm: keep legitimising an EPP-led order that governs through the hard right - through Roberta Metsola acting as an enabler - or walk away and build a majority that's actually progressive and pro-European. Most people are correct. Erling's father was a Premier League footballer and his mother was a Norwegian heptathlon champion. Thanks to his father he was also training with a pro team from age 5 so he is actually just the classic case of elite genetics combining with elite coaching and one of the worst possible examples to use to argue against genetic determinism.
Jakub@jakubflow

Most people see Erling Haaland and think: "genetics" But then you look at how he lives: - red meat - raw milk - organs - raw honey - sunlight - sleep - grounding - recovery - simple lifestyle And suddenly it makes sense. Elite biology is built from elite inputs. You don't become a machine by living like a modern slave. Haaland is what happens when you live like a human.

Yes, I said this for a long time. The establishment has won over social media. It learned how social media works and it gamed it. Influencers keep the appearance of authenticity but they have become part of the entertainment industry. New packaging for the same old propaganda.
Auðmundr@Audmund

Btw, "independent creators" are still getting bought out secretly by traditional media, or even worse, by intelligence agencies. They're not a solution to ending broadcast media, which is only bad because of the ruleset intelligence negroes imposed on them.

"The Swiss federal constitution of 29 May 1874 declares the purpose of the covenant to be the strengthening of the federation as well as the preservation and advancement of the unity, strength and honour of the Swiss nation. In Article 2, the federal constitution declares the goal of the Federation. 'The defence of the independence of the fatherland against those outside the Federation, and the enjoyment of peace and order internally.' There is no constitution without such existential concepts." - Carl Schmitt, Constitutional Theory

Intra-European migration is almost never an issue for the respective host countries. Europeans are often similarly represented in crime statistics as the natives of those countries, not just in Denmark but across Europe overall, and tend to both integrate and find work quickly. Intra-European migration could and should serve as the only acceptable way to address “labour shortages” in Europe currently. Most of these “labour shortages” are also not caused by an actual lack of available native human capital willing to work, but by the refusal of large corporations to raise wages. If you can instead lobby the government to ease restrictions on Third World migration, you don’t have to raise wages, and you have an infinite supply of people for entry-level and low-skill jobs. These are jobs that should either be staffed by young adults or could have been automated. So while this is obviously bad for the native European population, it also has the side effect of disincentivising innovation in these sectors.

The Economists tweets are at odds with its own past - you know, when Germanys surplus was „damaging the world economy“. Germanys surplus is now mainly due to investment income, Chinas goods surplus dwarfs Germanys, it’s way bigger as a share of global GDP than Germanys was.

Het is mij een raadsel waarom de EU überhaupt metro’s in Marokko financiert, zeker wanneer je bedenkt dat Marokko werkelijk alles doet om de terugkeer van illegale migranten te frustreren. Dit is een totale blunder van de @EIB.

The Stade shooting case just gets crazier and crazier. The shooter, Fatih G., was angry that his child had been placed in protective custody following a suspected case of shaken baby syndrome. He bought the gun he used for the shooting on the black market in Berlin for 4000 Euro. His getaway driver was a 65 year-old migration NGO employee named Sylvia S. This woman was also the godfather to Fatih G.'s injured child. Days prior to the shooting, Sylvia S. had just circulated a long memo to various journalists advocating on Fatih G.'s behalf and whining about the injustice of the case. Sylvia S. drove Fatih G. to the scene of the shooting, for a "support plan meeting" with youth welfare types. Fatih G. shot up the meeting and Sylvia S. drove him away from the scene of the crime. Both were arrested after police shot out the tyres of Fatih G.'s Mercedes. Sylvia S. has since been released.
eugyppius@eugyppius1

In fact the shooter seems to have been a Kurd or an Arab with Turkish citizenship and also a member of the Miri Clan. He shot up the shelter over a custody dispute ahead of a meeting he was supposed to have with his (I guess estranged) baby momma and child.
