@EllesmereGaming Everyone always complains about resto Druid being meta in keys but they are never meta to the point of being the ONLY healer timing high keys like priest paladin or shaman.

M+ post warning, raiders scroll on: Let’s discuss this m+ oracle disc priest situation and how to fix it without “gutting the spec.” First off, what do healers want? Contrary to popular belief, most healers don’t want their favorite spec to be OP/broken, they just want it to be competitive. Most healers simply want to be able to play whichever spec they enjoy without having one spec make your group feel significantly safer than the rest. Most seasons, this simply means raw healing output should be balanced between specs and then the meta is dictated by a combination of factors: raid buffs/comp, healer damage, and utility. This is when the healer meta is the least toxic for off-meta healers (barring egregious gaps in healer damage that heavily affect community perception, looking at you ashen hallow). So what exactly is the problem with oracle disc? The issue lies with the fact that oracle disc doesn’t simply “do too much healing” compared to the other healers, it’s the way they do their healing that fundamentally breaks m+ survivability. There is a reason external cooldowns are 1-2 minute cds and not something you can throw out every few seconds. This issue is more prevalent than ever in modern m+ where much of the damage profiles in competitive keys come in quick bursts or “one-shot” style mechanics. Now don’t get me wrong, giving healers niches is a healthy thing for the game, but those niches need to be kept in check. When one spec can double the health of a player every 7 seconds, that niche is clearly too strong and makes groups feel significantly less safe without it. So when healers call for nerfs to oracle, they aren’t asking for the spec to be gutted. They simply want to make their niche more reasonable so when people play with other healers they don’t immediately feel like they’re way more in danger. So how do we go about nerfing oracle disc while maintaining its niche and not killing the spec? The key is to shift some of their power from shielding to throughput. You don’t need to gut their healing, you need to reign in their shield power and distribute it out to other areas of their kit (dmg/healing). This would allow them to maintain their niche of having reasonably strong shielding without it being in its current game-breaking state. And to those of you who say this is only an issue for the top 0.1% of players, I highly disagree. Depending on the rigidity of the top m+ key groups, that meta has major effects on community perception which then heavily affects pugging in lower keys. A healthy healer meta that is defined by unique utility, comps, damage, etc. is significantly better for the game and community than a healer meta defined by survivability.

RDR2 cost ~$400 million to make from the ground up and sold for $60. Meanwhile Nintendo develops Mario Kart using reused assets for less than $50 million and wants to sell it for $90. How can anyone possibly justify these atrocious prices from Nintendo?
