PCA did make this error. The Cubs, however, lost this game by 6 runs, and PCA had a hit, a walk, a run, & an RBI. The next night he went 3-4 with 2 2B, 2 runs, an RBI, and the Cubs won by 7.
In any case, making PCA's *defense* your counterargument is certainly a choice.

The “drop” by Jayden Reed was another bad throw by Love. It’s high and slightly behind forcing Reed to leave his feet and reach back causing the incompletion. This won’t show up in any stat sheet as anything other than a drop but it’s on Love and Reed, not just Reed.
