Yesterday I laned against @Drututt and I won lane without him even making a single mistake. People complain that toplane is a broken role. Whilst I agree that the items and champions can be extremely oppressive and "broken", I want to take you guys through my thoughts why I believe that toplane in general simply has less impact than other roles. Unless you're versing an opponent that is inferior to you, you are mostly going to be reliant on Matchup and jungle mercy instead of just 1v1 laning. Whilst this is also true for other roles, as a toplaner on an island you don't get any other options in the game and you're just spectating for 20 minutes.
