@SolarScorpio666 @DeseretStone Yea, cause it’s totally the churches responsibility because they are solely a charitable organization. Oh wait…..
English

To put this in perspective:
At $1.45 billion / year, the Church spends just under $4 million / day on humanitarian aid.
The annual operating budget of the Community of Christ, including its humanitarian work, is ~$16 million.
Clint Teeples@TeeplesCY

@BookofMomma6 Those are pretty common calls for African continent missions.

@walker_sheppard His friends will be serving in Benin and the Ivory Coast.

@Mr_Andrew_Fox Hey, just so you know, Europeans can freeload and also be in their military at the same time.
English

I agree that people with anti-humanity agendas have hijacked it. My point is that many people who don't realize that sustainability often means saving money are arguing against it. Most people with a problem with it likely didn't listen to the podcasts and aren't familiar with industry practices. Most of All, the church is looking to cut FM-related costs in buildings.
English

@walker_sheppard It’s just been co-opted by humanity haters.
English

@giantsfan126 @StrategicTrends Did she ask him that? Or what did she ask?
English

@walker_sheppard @StrategicTrends We have 4 active military bases in the Philippines, have military cooperation with Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Brunei, and are in the final stages of massive cooperation partnerships with Vietnam. For a gung ho anti China guy he sure doesn't know much about the region

@notababylonian @D12Dale @the_churchnews No it’s not. It was never his money to begin with. A fundamental miss understanding of tithing. The 10% always belonged to God. It would be stealing for him to keep it.
English

Jenica Sedgwick, the sustainability manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, talks about caring for the earth. Listen here. thechurchnews.com/podcast/2025/0…
English

@the_churchnews This is super annoying. WTF is my tithing paying for a communist type sustainability manager?
English

@Crashby89 @_sky_sorensen_ It depends on whether you believe in God. Even then, if you don't, your morality is objectively set by Christian revelation that is thousands of years old. You never would've known that stealing is wrong without the commandments.
English

@walker_sheppard @_sky_sorensen_ As opposed to the made up and constantly changing standards set by the church?

Yoda shows everything wrong with the Jedi Order. He stuck to outdated rules, forced Jedi to suppress emotions, and ignored changes around him. He was too loyal to the corrupt Republic and made the Jedi generals in a war, which went against their values. He missed the signs of the Sith and, instead of fixing the Order after it fell, just ran away. His strict ways pushed people like Anakin to feel alone and fall apart.
English

@walker_sheppard @Queener_Weener Today is? I totally stand by saying Mace is, but Yoda? I mean he was hesitant to train look but ultimately took him on. Please plain I’m curious.
English

Do you ever think about the fact that Yoda is the only Star Wars character that we know of that died peacefully of natural causes

@jeremotographs Waaa waaa I committed crime feel bad for me

@walker_sheppard @jeremotographs You've lost your humanity dog

FYI, from someone who also grew up in southern California, you're cherry-picking images to
Make your argument seem better. You know the hills and lands around developed communities such as the Palisades are graded. LAFD and Cal Fire are responsible for creating fire breaks. It is 100% possible to effectively manage the immediate space between houses and shrubbery.
The CA SRA building code requires a 100-foot defensible space between houses and hills, which I guarantee LAFD was not enforcing on HOAs: Malibu and the Palisades border SRAs.
