Such great reporting, I wish they would recognize you as the reporter that you are. For me the issue fundamentally is trust. In the past few years, the government has raised the estate tax beyond tolerable numbers, made a capital gains excise tax that isn't an excise tax, and now made a massive income tax. I do mind paying 9.9% but I absolutely do not trust that it will stay 9.9%. They might lower the estate tax for a year or two, but I do not trust that it will stay lower. They might say the capital gains tax will stay "low," but I do not trust them when bills last session were workin to do the opposite. The trust is gone. Successdul people are not welcome here--they are vilified here. I do not want to live in a place where I am hated and unfairly treated when other states would welcome me and welcome my philanthropy, business, and estate.
