I read Jonathan Alter’s biography of Jimmy Carter a few years ago. It was simply amazing how he never stopped going 100% in all that life offered: learning to downhill skill at 62, climbing Kilimanjaro at 64, picking up snorkeling at 90. RIP.

Somebody makes a claim. You go see if it’s true. In this case it is not. It’s tempting just to accept a claim when it fits your side’s narrative. It’s also tempting just to reject a claim when it doesn’t fit! Better to check. The @WSJ is particularly good at this.
