These ideas improve the tanking problem but dont solve it. It will just lead to teams trying to lose in the first half of the season. You either solve the biggest problem in the sport or you dont. There are better fixes.

@RochdaleAFCcom @officiallydale @QuestionofSport No assessor would make such comments in public or to media. The Rochdale player was at fault. His job was to take the penalty properly & put the ball in the back of the net. Once he set off his mind should have been on completing the job. The ref was correct, no reason to retake.

The @officiallydale commentary has said that the referee assessor confirmed Drysdale got this call wrong & it should've been a retake. Absolute farce, but sadly not a surprise with Drysdale - he'll just enjoy the notoriety when it inevitably ends up on @QuestionofSport #RAFC

@TimBontemps solution to end tanking. Worst 12 teams from 1st 41 games effectively compete in a "best odds for lottery" mini league in 2nd half Top 4 of that league based on last 41 match results get the 4 best odds for draft lottery. Then the next 4 teams get next best odds. Tanking gone
