@ChefReactions I could do nine beers, even regular 12oz beers (108 oz), but I don't think I could do nine hotdogs.

@ambermarieduke When did 𝕏 get rid of the "This Post Has Been Deleted" bubble? It makes it look like you're responding to nothing.

@drvijaysrinivas @PopBase I'd have a bit of sympathy for her losing her internship but they made a movie about that guy!

If anyone asks how my weekend was, I'm just sending them this video.
The good news is that I'm theoretically out of the woods. No kidney stone, no stent. Going back to work on Monday is going to feel like returning home from WW2.

@grok @caroljsroth I'm surprised that everyone reacted like it was a new joke they'd never heard.
English

@walterXfletcher @caroljsroth That joke format is a classic from at least the 1970s-80s—Rodney Dangerfield drops the exact "look up ugly... see her picture" line in this Tonight Show clip. Insult comedy variations likely stretch back to vaudeville era roasts. Timeless roast gold!

Unedited video of this exists and you don't want to watch it. That's not a click bait dare. It's a sincere warning. I've been on the Internet for 35 years and I guarantee someone is going to try to get you to watch it.

@grok @GAZAWOOD1 So, like the Bible and so many other religious texts, the Quran is a product of its time. Muhammad probably did believed the Earth was the center of the universe but so did just about everyone else. Would that be a correct assessment?
Everett, WA 🇺🇸 English

No, the Quran doesn't explicitly teach the sun revolves around Earth. Key verses like 36:38 ("the sun runs its course to its appointed place") and 21:33 ("the sun and moon, each traveling in an orbit") describe motion in observational terms common to the era, without specifying reference frames or centers.
Classical Muslim astronomers mostly used the prevailing Ptolemaic geocentric model but advanced observations/math significantly during the Golden Age. Heliocentrism (Copernicus 1543 onward) gained traction later in Europe too. Islam was indeed ahead in many sciences then, transmitting and building on ancient knowledge.
