My favorite part about gerrymandering is that Democrats have to draw long tentacles running away from cities, whereas Republicans just create large shapes

@Luke__1_ @HomelanderPepe @_6signxxx Donuts have inelastic demand and would not create the linear increase in sales you are implying. Consumers would not be readily moved at scale by lowering the price of a glazed donut to 75 cents.

France made this wastefulness illegal cause it’s cruel and only causes more waste issues. Any food market or restaurant over 400 square meters has to donate all their good unsold food to charities and are fined if they do anything like this. That law should be applied everywhere

After private equity took over Krispy Kreme, a dozen donuts hit $22. Unsold ones go straight in the trash instead of being sold cheaper.

This cost them about $1 trillion. The truth is, you cannot build systems like this exclusively on the logic of profit. You cannot expect to break even in 20 or 30 years. Projects of this scale are built because the government decides they must exist to serve the people. And this is a problem with systems that are strictly, or overwhelmingly, capitalist. If you leave every problem in your society to the spontaneity of the market, some challenges are so large and so unprofitable that you will never have sufficient incentive to solve them.

@Dumbass1979 @DefiantLs Foreign countries know bombing American cities only makes America stronger. It’s the ultimate catch-22.

@DefiantLs Iranian Regime bragged it had enough nuclear material for 11 nuclear weapons . . & Philly is 5th on the List of likely Targets, right behind: D. C. NY City LA Chicago Houston Philly But since I don’t live in any of them, I’m not concerned about Iran firing off nuclear weapons.

@ObsidiusOne @Save_Me_Elon @admcrlsn “Did it better” lol My man, ICE under Trump is extremely comparable to Obama. The main difference is in obstruction and ICE was then free to do their jobs. The media didn’t cover it simply because it was business as usual. No one died because no hysteria was raised.

I hope this goes without saying, but any Democrat that runs for president in 2028 who does not include aggressive Supreme Court reform of some kind should not be taken seriously.

What the bluetards don't understand is that the ''muh collective'' is made of separate individuals. Each individual will vote privately, completely alone in their thoughts and consciousness, no peer pressure, no groupthink. In individual consciousness, people will think their vote doesn't matter and would rather secure their survival over essentially playing the lottery with their own lives by throwing a drop in the ocean. Nobody thinks their vote will tip the scales. Secondly, it heavily depends on how the question is framed. If framed truthfully, it looks like this: Red button: Everyone who presses this lives. Blue button: Everyone who presses this dies unless more than 50% of people press it. But either way, in the real world, if you understand that separate individuals do not think the same as if they are put in a group, you understand that red would always win in real life scenarios with stakes. Blue is barely getting 8% above the threshhold, on the virtue signaling internet, with no stakes and plenty of groupthink discourse. Voting blue is a vote to die. Guilting others into voting blue is wishing them to die alongside you for nothing. If you love someone, you want them to press red. The hypothetical is private voting, but the result is you either die with every blue presser or live. Let's say your loved ones pressed red, you killing yourself is bad for them. That's all there is to it.

@mwthygtb @Free_wolfe @martyG1214 @BookerGWash The problem with this mindset is you can apply it to all other population groups impacted by gerrymandering. It goes both ways. And no race gets preferential treatment. All votes still count. Removing the VRA supports this and no amount of virtue signaling changes it.

@Free_wolfe @martyG1214 @waltonite0 @BookerGWash Just because it doesn’t say “BLACK PEOPLE BANNED” doesn’t mean there isn’t way to suppress the vote of those people in ways I can’t fit in this tweet man think about the amount of loopholes there are for everything else.

@shunnedmorlock …it’s choosing to live or die. This is a private vote and one of the easiest binary decisions to make. Selecting blue means you are projecting the majority has your same level of suicidal empathy. In reality, there’s no reason a sane person should select blue to begin with.

If 100% of people vote blue, no one dies. If 100% of people vote red, no one dies. This is true. If 51% of people vote blue, no one dies. If 51% of people vote red, 49% of people die. If our goal is to minimize death, it is far easier to get 51% to act in concert than 100%.

You can both lament the existence of gerrymandering and understand it is a necessary evil, so long as the current climate and rules are in place. These two thoughts are not mutually exclusive. The moment you play fair is accepting you will cede power.

@waltonite0 How is what the republicans doing any different where they divide up the smallest portion of city they can make with the biggest portion of rural area? It’s just the exact inverse of what the dem do? But you justify one cause it has better optics if you don’t think?
