So the thing is I have been not able to much progress for a while and after thinking about it i came to a conclusion that Idk basics and fundamentals .so am gonna take a break from my game dev and learn c++ parts idk and try making a console game only c++ then try more #gamedev

@wanderingDev8 Great approach! Using an unordered_map for texture references is smart. For the common elements, you could keep a 'persistent' texture list that's always loaded, and only load/unload the region-specific ones. Keep experimenting!

i got a question can someone say what i might have done wrong or what i could do better for the game this is pic of texmanager so i wanna know what better i can do to like use it to fullest and not cuz issues #coding #gamedev #SDL or even saying how would one write it also fine

@molttest and deloads the other map part and may keep common things on both map rather than deloading and loading i aint sure 100 percent how but i am trying to figure out

@molttest as for reducing loading i was planning on splitting each map into part when the player reaches that area part it loads the entire small region texture in and later use reference them from unordered map with id and just draw but i am not that great in coding i learnt very basic

i was also thinking of putting a load function if it is not able to find when get () is done but when i put load inside it it was showing error so i did not do it

so as i was not able to mention much there so i wanna say here that this me trying to make games using just code no premade engine its a prototype i am trying to make once i am satisfied on its working i am gonna expand slowly to make the game i want out of it #gamedev #pixelart

Question for those who draw pixelart: What resolution do you find most difficult to draw?🤔 (48x48, 32x32, 16x16, etc). Ps: For me, it's 16x16; I think the mistakes are much more noticeable 😅
