@IronIntOfficial I just found out that this is apparently a global issue that many creators are experiencing. I thought something was wrong with my account and that they had punished me for some reason. But if it is a global issue, I can keep posting regularly and hope this gets fixed eventually

Making "freindslop" is a surefire way to make sure no one remembers your game in a month when the popular streamers move on to something else.
IronDev@IronIntOfficial
Give me your most honest opinion about indie games that are being released these days.
English

@perelesoq @gameralphabeta It will blow over I'm sure, at some point people will get bored of it. Hell, I never found it interesting to start with. Only thing that impressed me was the sales they make.
English

@gameralphabeta @IronIntOfficial Yep, too many friendslop today, it's devastating to see. Even if there are some cool ideas among them, there are too many of them sadly.
But in general, indie is much better now than AAA, like for example No I'm not a human, which is better and unique more than 80% AAA today
English

@SLP_Aleks My other game takes some inspiration from the Silent Hill games. But is that really a bad thing? As long as games don't fully rely on it, it's fine I think.
English

@IronIntOfficial Too many indie devs advertise their games with "inspired by," or as "-likes." They use the label as a shield for a game completely derivative with no soul of its own.
That is to say; most indie devs make bootleg variants of games that already exist, without vision or creativity.
English

@IronIntOfficial All I know is you complete me
English

@DeadbugProjects It is becoming more easy to do gamedev I agree. But I think it will blow over at some point.
English

@IronIntOfficial I think the barrier to entry may have lowered a little too much.
A lot of low quality games risk eroding customer trust and making them turn away from indies for good.
I sometimes wonder if a platform like Steam but with more strict quality control would be a game changer...
English

@steelkrill Indie gets used the same way as AAA these days lmao
English

@IronIntOfficial The word “indie” used to mean small-scale and independent. Now some “indie” games have budgets bigger than older AAA titles. These heavily funded independent studios shouldn't be called Indie.
English

@AlgoAttraction It's a algorithm thing. It happens to all of I think.
English

@IronIntOfficial But does it get fixed eventually? If that’s the case, I can wait it out even if it is pretty discouraging. But after so many days of seeing the same behavior post after post, you start to wonder if it truly will be fixed or not
English

@ArkhamDreamer I had the same doubts at first, but it works really nice. Just scale the hand so it works. It's far from 'real scale' haha
English

@IronIntOfficial We're thinking about having a diagetic journal in our retro game, and seeing how seemlessly you integrated a piece of paper and an actual full blown hand makes me confident that it's gonna work.
English

@Kuzoma26 @IronIntOfficial We're not in disagreement
But you could've done without the condescending "buddy" buddy
English

@Mosieur_Costard I think there will always be waves. I think ps2 spec games are next up.
English

@IronIntOfficial Like i feel that there's a new vibe of psx/PS2 era games, like with the games of critical reflex for example ect, some shooters or infiltration game, even immersive sim ect, it's like the second wave of pixel art games 10 years ago, i mean i felt it like that.
English

@DeTomPlays @makkoai This is a nice take, good to see somebody not bash AI
English

@makkoai @IronIntOfficial Utilising AI or creating without AI. I don't consider that either good or bad personally. AI is a tool and makes for a great assistant, should it replace humans, no, but used in the right way it is an asset.
English

@IronIntOfficial Most indie's pose themselves as underdogs who are "breaking the mold and doing something unique"
But in reality most indie games are more creatively bankrupt than AAA
They're so in love with their own projects that they can't ever properly judge their game
So they release slop
