Satanism in modern terms is essentially what happens when a Dungeons and Dragons dork gets a job working at Hot Topic. It's atheism, but also with a little extra zing added against Christians. The Church of Satan and the Satanic Temple are two separate things. Anton Lavey was straight out of a comic book. Frail and annoying, looking like he was playing Nosferatu on Halloween, the main presented himself as some leader of thought. Realistically, the entire Satanic Bible was just the antithesis of the Bible. It was meant for dorks who hated their Christian parents and wanted to rebel. He'd ramble on about psychic vampires and his nine Satanic tenets. If you were a kid who hung around the mall with black eyeliner, this was the coolest thing ever. The reality is, Lavey was a sniveling weakling and essentially stole most of his ideas from Nietzsche and Might is Right by Arthur Desmond. He'd preach this stuff and all the disenfranchised nerds would huddle around him like he was a prophet. People think he was worshipping an actual manifestation of Satan, but much like the Satanic Temple of today, they are not theists. They're just hedonists too unoriginal to mimic de Sade. The Satanic Temple of today? Mostly Trans/feminists infatuated with abortion and LGBT stuff. Lavey was actually too hardcore for them and they reject him. It's all a clown show and should just be ignored. Theater kids being theater kids. Your average hedge fund manager is closer to worshipping Satan than these dorks.
