As a new FY1, having just certified my very first death - on a very, very, long night shift - I made myself a cup of NHS tea.
The nurse in charge subsequently threatened me with disciplinary action for ‘stealing’.
As a new ICU Registrar in Aus, I was asked for my address - so the hospital could send me a thank you hamper.
The NHS is terrible employer.

Overworked, underpaid, and subjected to unnecessary hostility. An NHS doctor was prevented from accessing the ward kitchen for a simple glass of tap water. It’s no surprise so many doctors are leaving for countries where they’re valued, respected, and treated with basic dignity.

@LeilaniDowding I would suggest discussing with your ENT surgeon to get your upper left molar looked at as that is likely the cause looking at the scan.

Well my sinus is well and truly f-ed. I have to have surgery. Has anyone here had sinus surgery. I’m absolutely terrified of general anesthetic!

How much is your consultant study leave budget?
We get £600/yr (£1800 per 3yrs which can be used in one go).
This has been the same for about the last 28 years! £600 is barely enough for a single conference registration never mind travel and accommodation.
