@GergelyOrosz We routinely evaluate customer legacy systems for modernization, millions of lines of code, hundreds of external system and human dependencies, multiple security boundaries, etc. AI is amazing but it still plays a very small role in the overall project.

What makes software development (and engineering) *really* hard instead is: - Building the right thing (and knowing what this is) - Coding yourself into a corner (common for juniors - and now also for AI!) - Architecture - Tech maturity & risks that come with it - Testing - Maintenance - Migrations - Real-world edge cases - Non-functional requirements: eg latency, performance, cost of operations, security - Compliance - Tech debt ... and most importantly: people!! (collaboration, conflicts, ownership etc etc)

Amusing outcome of "vibe coding" wave with AI (by people who have not written software professionally before) Seeing the speedrun of why software development REALLY is hard (it was never about writing code - even though most non-dev folks assumed it must have been!)
