It’s an incredibly surreal feeling to stand, where I’ve always dreamed of being. I can do what I want, when I want, how I want, with all the means to do so. Independence was always my ultimate dream. Just a few years ago, every night before falling asleep, I would obsess over achieving this lifestyle. And now, suddenly, it all happened so quickly that it became normal faster than I could even process. Looking back, the journey makes it even more valuable, reaching it through a tough, rocky path makes it feel far more earned and fulfilling than if it had come instantly. The moment I sat at the table and told my mother she could retire, that she’d never have to worry about money again and could travel as much as she wished, was without a doubt the most beautiful moment of my life so far. It still fills me with pride today, knowing what I’ve achieved and how hard I fought to make it possible. Had I never reached this point, I know I’d still be in a teaching career (i love my job, but…), constantly thinking about the financial markets, never able to switch off, always drawn back, trying again and again to build financial freedom through trading. That drive would never have left me.
