For those of you that haven't seen them yet I wanted to talk about the minis I'm now selling. First up are the unarmoured zealots. These stood against the best the Romans had to throw at them, and are suitable for the Revolts of the 1st and 2nd centuries: northwingminiatures.com/product-page/u…

Since I last posted on here I have started my own miniatures company, "Northwing Miniatures"! I sell a small range of 28mm minis for the Jewish Revolts against Rome. If you are interested then please come and check them out at:

I have written a new blog post:
"Review of Simon Scarrow’s Revenge of Rome (Eagles of the Empire no. 23)"

@JAD965 That's a shame - I believe I'm being gifted some WG EIR for Christmas so I'll stick with WG for the Barbarians in that case.
English

@wargameswriter Not compatible at all, and I'm not fussy about such things. When I got the Victrix stuff I sold my Warlord models.
English

@wargameswriter @Sabotag3dPrint @jaje7406 This is the most use I have ever had of the 1000 Romans and Celts I have painted...
English

@GuyBowers13 That's really helpful, thanks for that
English

@wargameswriter Ok, reread the post. Warlord EIR are sized to be Foundry Roman sized. The Caesaran Romans are much bigger. Victrix stuff tends to be a little big, so Celts wise, they should fit in with Warlord Celts. The Victrix EIR are noticeably bigger.

I have just written a new blog post:
"What have the Romans ever done for me?"

Attention NE UK wargamers- a group of us have set up a new club "Newcastle Knights". This will meet at St Mary the Virgin church in Fawdon every second Thursday evening from January onwards. If you're interested please pop over to our new Facebook group

@GuyBowers13 @Wargamersforum Thanks to @guy I have spent the morning drafting a proposed constitution which will hopefully put everything on a formal basis.
English

@Wargamersforum @wargameswriter We allow minors if accompanied by a parent. No parent, no attendance. The venue should have its own insurance.
English

@kargandemonclaw Thank you, I think we are going for a less formal approach to begin with, although potentially once we have things up and running we might want to look at going that route at which point I will definitely be in touch 👍
English

@wargameswriter I’m president of a Wargames club. We have a committee, a constitution and enough compliance processes to allow us to be a charitable incorporated society. If you want some advice let me know and we can find a way to talk in a longer format message.
English

@Andy_Parker1982 A bit of both. It was just the one person. They were genuinely very good, but it isn't fair to have one person take all the responsibility and it does mean that the club loves and does with them.
English

@wargameswriter Was that it was just only one person in charge, or were there other informal things?
English

@tomsandson Yep, we're going to invest in MDF boards which we can store at the venue. We're also putting together some terrain to cover our most popular games and try and provide some gaming mats.
English

@wargameswriter A couple of things - what are you clubs ‘core’ games? (Ones that get played week in week out) these are good to base around to make sure the club doesn’t lose money.
How are the physical tables you play on? Is it worth investing in MDF boards to make them flat?
