@NTGuardian I am so sorry to learn of your loss.

I said goodbye to my best friend yesterday. He was 9 years old and left too soon. His health declined rapidly over the last few weeks and I was not ready. We spent yesterday watching TV together. He lay on my legs under a blanket, one of his favorite spots. I'm going to miss him.

Day One of the Commandant's Cup Wargaming Tournament has wrapped up and MCTOG is at the top of the chart with half of our players winning all four of their games! Tomorrow the team as they take on more complex scenarios and show what MCTOG brings to the fight!

@BarrickTim This is a terrific event and features Tim's new modern joint warfare board wargame inspired by TACTICS II with many of the salient features of OWS, but with alternating actions using Action Points and cards.

@WOPR_1983GTW It was a very close game that came down to the final 30 Firepower Factor attack of the U.S. Airborne against a stack of German infantry in the last one of four victory building locations. While the Americans scored a two Morale Check, the Germans completely shook it off!

Because I needed to prepare a poster for my @IDA_org #IDAMicrogame Project #wargame, I made a VASSAL module for making good graphics. This is the first module I've ever made.

@markherman54 Very much looking forward to this one! Having done staff rides for the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College on several of these battlefields, I will wish I had this game to orient our staff ride facilitators!

I will eventually cover this and all of Grants campaigns in the west and on the Mississippi. Currently GRANT: battles of the Army of the Potomac will cover his 1864 March on Richmond.

@DYCinWDC When I was presenting an intelligence education wargame "wish list" at Connections 99, he hooked me up with CNA to implement commercial wargaming to help teach students new to the field. Always got to see each other at PrezCon in Charlottesville ever since until now. Sigh.

I met Peter over 30 years ago. He was a legend in his field and a wonderful person to work with. He cared about his work, he cared about people, and he cared about making things better. He will be missed.

Last year I played a game of #Diplomacy in @webdiplomacy, and I kept a written log of what was happening, my analysis of the situation, and my decisions and rationale. A couple days ago I closed out the book with an imagined epilogue of how the world of the game turned out.
