@SyzygyAltair I honestly felt like a super genius when I realized I could make it look like a black hole.
English

@SuperKimVT These early supermassive black holes are crazy. The universe just began and these hungry bois already grinded their way to the top of the leaderboard.

the answer is that this is MoM-z14, the most distant galaxy ever detected (JWST slay!) This picture is from only 280 million years after the Big Bang!

@Nicolay_Kuebler @bearcat_pilot @aaronburnett The far side is the side that faces away from the Earth. The shady side is the side that faces away from the sun. They are not the same.
English

Solar is far cheaper to scale however power density is ultimately tied to energy density. Unlocking many use cases requires the best energy density and nuclear is the densest energy source we have. This is a perfect use case for NASA. Push the boundaries to unlock net new capabilities that will eventually scale to defense and commercially viable use cases.

@bearcat_pilot @aaronburnett Technically there are craters near the poles of the moon that are in permanent darkness. Though these aren't really a "side" of the moon so they don't count as a dark side.
I prefer the term shady side to refer to the night side of the moon.
English

@aaronburnett I know Aaron knows this. I mention this for those who are not space knowledgeable. Aaron says, "dark side of the moon". A day on the moon is about 28 Earth days long. There is no permanently dark side of the moon. On the Moon with two weeks of darkness, nuclear might be needed.

@AlephMu @NepsTerrarium Super good for a first drawing. Arguably better than my first drawing even.

I did it! I drew a thing! Take that @NepsTerrarium !
First actual drawing btw I've not done 2D art before!

They should be shipping them straight to your house...via rocket.

@warpey12 Omg stop it I unironically love Scooby Snacks, but you can't get them in the UK!
English

@Pinboard @sillypupkit The main requirement is that the escape tower must lift the capsule high enough for the parachutes to deploy properly which is already far beyond the blast radius of even the biggest failing rockets. Its size is purely determined by the weight it must carry.
English

@sillypupkit @warpey12 They are not; Orion's is massive because the performance requirement is to get away from exploding SRBs that can't be throttled down
English

A fun fact is that this thing weighs more than an entire Soyuz capsule. Don't use solid rockets in your manned space program, kids. Not even once.

@Pinboard The only situation the tower is used is when the rocket is malfunctioning and about to blow up.
Turning off the engines does not always prevent a rocket explosion. Especially when the part that is causing the explosion is nowhere near the engines such as a rupturing fuel tank.

@MillenniumVT @ariasama_ It is very simple. I'd first draw a circle, and then draw the rest of you. Super easy!

@SuperKimVT Holy shit it has been a while since last time I've seen Bibble.

@PsydereVT I can understand YouTube showing an ancient video from time to time for seemingly no reason, but to show this of all things tells me something is scuffed on their end.
