Hitters: No matter how good your swing is, if you don’t trust your plan or approach you’ll consistently be late for fast, early for slow while trying to cover the whole plate. Decide, trust, crush. 🧠📈

@TreadAthletics Shouldn’t reply while walking to a practice- you know it like walking and chewing gum sometimes 😜

I talk a lot about pitchers training "strength through length," and there may not be a more important area for this than when it comes to pressing exercises.🧐 HOWEVER: going deeper is not always better.🚫 Pitchers - here's how to find your ideal depth on pressing exercises:

@TreadAthletics Thanks Ben, you do a great job, and provide great content- hope I can add something- emg data can give us a little more insight as well- we get more and more into the shoulder passed 90deg of shoulder abduction, because the pec has less mechanical advantage.

Much different these days! So very difficult being a parent and trying to navigate the climate of youth sports is impossible! We want to make sure that our kids have the best of everything! My Dad always likes to remind me that sometimes LESS is better and that it is OK to say NO!

In order to excel, you must be completely dedicated to your chosen sport. You must also be prepared to work hard and be willing to accept constructive criticism. Without one-hundred percent dedication, you won't be able to do this. -Willie Mays

@CoachJeffLeach The true elite mind set is hard to find, and is rare, and many times not even in the most skilled players. But again not every player is willing or able to battle the so called grind. Its ok to take time off but can you really look in mirror and say I pushed 247

One thing I’ve noticed: Athletes who don’t work hard tell coaches they’re tired and need time off. Athletes who work hard ignore being tired and need coaches to tell them to take time off.

Breaking News! Parents...your son isn’t not being recruited because his HS coach isn’t helping him. He’s not being recruited because he’s allergic to the weightroom/conditioning, his measureables are not good, and he gets destroyed vs good competition. Your son’s got WORK to do.

@lokationnation The best coaches are guides- the deciding factor should not be what they accomplished, it’s there focus on how they can help the ones that seek there wisdom and knowledge. Great post Dustin.

My message has been constant from day one. I overstate this. Its not about what Ive done in my baseball career, its about what MORE pitchers could do with what they currently have, because most have way more talent than I ever did… MORE pitchers could be MORE successful.

@murphyr2 @LeftyFromCT I find it funny that so many spend so much cash on the early years that when they get to the point that the player is really ready start developing they have run out of money

@LeftyFromCT I wish I had seen the tweet the spurred this thread. Personally, I’m not a big fan of travel ball for kids below, say 11 or 12 (and even then I wonder). very high focus on winning, slotted into positions early and pitcher overwork possible Total focus on baseball? Hmmm

Often, the athletes that post #grinding on their status do only as much as the avg athlete but want social credit The 1% athletes that train more than most don’t post about it because extra work is just part of their daily routine #grinders can play pretend, but the game knows.

Minimum bench press goal guide by grade 9th-135 10th-185 11th-225 12th-250 Very attainable with an AVERAGE consistent effort Players...don't let the weak sheep tell you baseball players shouldn't bench. They are the same folks that think a mile is distance running.

Charging kids just for the chance to attend a tryout for a team, and not refunding it if they aren’t selected, is gross.

@serveleadcoach Is 🔥 Robert- if you like to hear yourself talk all the time don’t coach. You only teach them to be dependent on that, it only hurts them in the long run.

Over-cueing after every swing for feedback creates a passive learning environment. Which is the least effective form of learning. The learning environment you create matters.
