Walk up songs, pregame + between-innings music, sticker giveaways, fan experiences, and quality (+ quantity of) uniforms aren’t distractions; they’re all part of creating a culture that promotes a Major League experience. Players love it. Parents like it. Fans show up.

Playoffs start Monday. One of our red tailed hawks found a new place to chill. Gotta be a good omen.

College coaches and pro scouts: you will be charged by the ticket taker. That’s their job; they’re the ticket taker. If your org cannot afford the HS ⚾️ ticket cost, it might be time for a conversation with the higher ups.
Coach Blanchard@Maris_Blanch

It’s HS ⚾️ playoff time! If you’re working the ticket table and see someone walk up with a backpack, pen, stopwatch, & college logo, tell them to enjoy the game and keep working hard. Nobody asked you to pay to work the table, don’t ask us to pay to do our job. Carry on🫡@MSHSL

@BbCounty If the state association doesn’t allow it for playoff games, then it isn’t allowed. Even mom and dad have to pay.

@MrMaxPrice This isn’t about being able to afford a ticket , it’s about having no feel! Doesn’t take much effort for a high school coach to tell their ticket taker not to charge scouts or college coaches kind of a no-brainer if you think about it

@wea71000 Can’t speak for other states, but in Oregon the playoff ticket fees help cover the association’s costs for running the events (think umpires, baseball reimbursements, staffing state championship sites, paying for state championship venues, etc).

@MrMaxPrice The real issue is why does anyone have to pay $10 to watch high school baseball? That’s patently absurd

I know very little about hockey, but being a hockey scout sounds so awesome. Baseball is funny because if I’m here to scout you, you might get up to bat four times. I can watch you on defense, but otherwise you’re in the dugout waiting to hit. The action you get in hockey is nonstop. So much to look for, I assume!

@MrMaxPrice I’m a hockey scout, if I need to pay to watch a game, I pay to watch a game. I am a spectator just like everyone else, no one cares if I am working.

@MrMaxPrice I always paid (or tried to pay) when I was scouting HS and college games - 20 years ago I watched a GM pay for his own tickets despite someone trying to get him in for free. Always stuck with me.
