Update: I was received with love and kindness by the boys in my HS 50th reunion class of 76.
In one of the hallways there was a poster with a quote from one of my books, about finding courage.

My mom tried meth at a party once not knowing what it was and stayed awake for two days and took me and my brother to see Garfield in theaters the next day after staying up all night. She never even thought about it again.

Baltimore suburbs have a very weird relationship with the city and its inhabitants. People in Dundalk, Parkville, Arbutus and Glen Burnie will cheer for the O’s, will have posters of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed in their homes and be the most racist mfs around who hate the city.

If I were a Baltimore journalist, I'd do a story on the extreme amount of white suburban racism. They fill the comments of Baltimore stories. Some of the most vile, violent racist stuff you see. It's worth a story.
