@CaptJabberJaws @robgillezeau Really, plagiarism, seems like UNDENIABLE DESPERATION!

This is such a vile smear job that is unbecoming both of a major national paper and the leader of the Conservative Party. I'm happy to see my fellow economists step up to denounce this absurd attack and I'm happy to add my voice to those efforts.

@BobRae48 a reminder of the reformed views of Martin Niemöller (abv):
First they came for the socialists, … I was not a socialist.
Then … the trade unionists, ….
Then they came for the Jews, ….
Then … for me and there was no one left to speak for me.

@deAdder @ElizabethWeir2 While its is noteworthy the French’s brand still produces ketchup in Canada using tomatoes grown in Canada, McCormick & Company (of the USA) owns the French's ketchup brand, since it acquired French's in 2017 when it bought Reckitt Benckiser's food business
English

This is the Trump effect in Canada. All the French's Ketchup bought up, Heinz remains on the shelf. Heinz Ketchup has "Made in the USA" on its label.
[To be fair to Heinz, both companies use tomatoes grown in Canada. But also to be fair, Heinz closed a factory in Canada in 2014 and people never forgot. Heinz has been fighting that bad PR ever since.]

@ElizabethWeir2 @ElizabethWeir2 Moving, it is so lovely and relatable - I aspire to have the same impact on our children and grandchildren. Being seen as somewhat “goofy” is so worth it.

Wow. He really asked not what his country can do for him, but what he can do for his country. Must have been a difficult decision for a person with such a long, distinguished history of service.

@ElizabethWeir2 @ElizabethWeir2 I have long held the view that Mary Walsh is a comedic genius, with strong cross over capacity in political and social commentary - So in my view you 2 have some things in common.
