In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth. That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon. Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites. Visible to the naked eye. Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory. A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation. That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

@Devin_Heroux My wife and I were in that building to pick up a bib for the Lavaredo 120k trail race back in 2023. Wish I had taken more time to check it out. What a beautiful place.

There is so much character in this old 1956 Cortina Olympic venue. Didn’t have a roof for those Games. I think the wooden benches and railings are my favourite part. Such an intimate setting for curling.

@SteveDickerNL I’ve seen trucks full of snow heading up kenmount road extension into paradise so I’m assuming one of the spots is in that part of town somewhere.

Anybody know where the Town of Paradise dumps its snow? We're finally getting our street widened (yay!), but it's been a steady line of backhoes and dump trucks for 90+ minutes. Don't know why they can't just use a snowblower and pile it up on the lawns. #nlwx

It's now official: St. John's #YYT snowfall 170.2 cm Feb 1-24 makes this February this snowiest on record! Prev rec for the month: 170.1 (2006). ❄️ A couple days left plus more snow coming, so good chance to also beat Dec 2000’s 173.4 cm for most in any calendar month. 📈 #nlwx
