@short_straw @videolan The input for these models are images with labels added to them, done by volunteers, usually via filling in captchas (where it asks you to click the bicycle, or the stairs, or the door) That's the input for this example I'm sharing

@short_straw @videolan I think you're confusing machine learning with generative AI Machine learning models like this being much more good to the world, especially in the world of accessibility, like live captioning for deaf people (for example on their phone for irl conversations, etc)

AI, artificial intelligence. Plenty of us are quite tech savvy, and 100% opposed to this for all the rational reasons. All these systems are created from stolen data, and then using all the stolen data to steal jobs. That's completely aside from all the serious risks like AI destroying our economy and x-risk. There is literally no excuse. This is the peak of exploitive capitalism, it isn't 'cool' or 'neat,' it's exploitive. Do what you want, but you've lost my respect.
