Took 2nd in the Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit $1125 Last Call today. Had a 3:1 heads up lead and got my opponent in drawing to a 3 outer and he hit it... 1st woulda been nice but $22k for 2nd ain't bad...

If you told me 6 month ago that I'd be playing in this tourney tomorrow, I may have laughed at you. Crazy tough field with all the top players of the year, should be fun! Tune in to PokerGo to watch the stream and wish me luck!

@jeremyausmus That’s a big part of it for sure. It’s just more interesting when a construction worker figures out a way to beat the game on his own, than a study group grinding solver outputs.

There is a lot to admire and respect about those that work hard with solvers and learn the game at a high level “the right way.” For me, it’s just way more romantic, fun, and cool to watch those that do their own thing and make it work, while the studied crowd internally discusses how bad they play. Long list of names come to mind: Vanessa Selbt top of the list for me, although not recent. She broke the mold for this category. Phil Ivey Bryn Kenney Jesse Lonis Chino Rheem Michael Mizrachi Alex Foxen kinda. Hybrid studied, but also does shit people think is horrendous which makes him a beast. Adrian Mateos, another kinda. Martin Zamani Even… Shaun Deeb.
