The strike on the Ed Daien Teaching Hospital in East Darfur by the SAF, which killed at least 64 people and injured nearly 100 others, is appalling. This vital hospital is now inoperable, depriving innocent civilians of lifesaving care. Since April 2023, more than 2,000 people have died from over 200 attacks on medical facilities, which must never be targeted. The violence from both sides must stop; they must accept a humanitarian truce to end the suffering of the Sudanese people and allow those injured to heal in peace and security.
