Congratulations to Visual Arts teachers @burwoodghs for coordinating year8 and year10 ceramics students to produce a mural to adorn external walls of the outside toilet block. Bravo!

@aliceleung I get the same every time I study MySchool data to compare public and independent private schools. We need to stop calling them "private" schools : they are "government funded schools for families who pay up to $20-$40K per child for all the extras". 1/2

The senior executive team @burwoodghs were thrilled to see the 90th Anniversary mural developed by the Visual Arts faculty, installed at the student entry. What a magnificent way to commemorate 90 years of fabulous public education.

@DrGaryJones @dylanwiliam While I think there is a lot of value when considering effect sizes, I've seen many of the so called lower effect strategies bring enormous growth in learning for some students who respond well to those approaches

@gregwhitby @smh Not frightened by NAPLAN, just agog at its pointlessness. Teachers are now far more astute than to rely on it even for diagnostic purposes now, just when it might deliver information earlier than 3 months after. Teachers diagnose learning every lesson in real time.
