We then compared the model with satellite imagery from March 11. The observed smoke matches the direction and spread shown in the model, and indicates ongoing smoke from the Shahr-e Rey site more than 80 hours after the initial strikes.

Another strike incoming on central Beirut. Gunfire crackling in the streets to alert those who don’t happen to be on Twitter at 4am that they’re in danger. Two other strikes hit central Beirut overnight without warning, at least 6 dead in those according to MoH

To reiterate this point, the IRGC's intelligence unit has published two videos today in which they arrest several Iranians for filming and sharing videos of US/Israeli strikes from the windows of their homes. Open source investigators have a moral duty to protect Iranians who are trying to document this conflict despite knowing the potential risk to their safety. Please refrain from posting the POV coordinates of videos filmed from Iranian homes that could reveal people's addresses. The coordinates you post might be later used by the government to find and arrest people.

A kind note to fellow open source researchers: Do not post the coordinates of videos from Iran that reveal the home addresses of people, particularly if they're chanting anti-government slogans or showing dissent. It could put them at risk of being identified and detained.

After a pause of more than a year, white phosphorus has been used again in Lebanon. The last recorded incident on whitephosphorus.info dates to 19 Nov 2024. New strikes verified and geolocated by @hrw in Yohmor are mapped below. About 70 homes fall within the impact area.

This investigation from @OCCRP, published a few weeks ago, uncovered how a person running two UK-registered crypto exchanges was actually a fake front linked to laundering for Iran's regime. One of the links in the investigation relied on facial matching a cat. Brilliant.
