Day 16 fam. The task for today was to explore bots, Discord bots precisely. For Telegram we've already established a relationship with @MissRose_bot and I have an overview knowledge of @MatricaLabs. I already had a plan to research on two most used bots on Discord. @mee6bot and carlbot. Dear @Jon_HQ, Carl should have its own x handle don't you think? I know turtles can't type but it wouldn't hurt to try 😂 Adding Carl was easy peasy, MEE6, not so much so. I eventually had to go through Discord's app directories, that's when I saw something that surprised me a bit. The amount of bots/apps available for Discord moderation. Might just look at every one of em. Back to the matter, Carl and mEE6. Today I looked at the basics but I'll eventually go in depth on both some time. Carl-bot to me is the serious moderation powerhouse. Servers that care about control, logging, and clean role management swear by it. Less flashy, more functional. MEE6 on the other hand, I'd love to refer to as the community/engagement bot. Great for growing servers that want members to feel rewarded for activity. Prettier dashboard, easier to navigate. More differences I noticed include how Carl is very generous with the free plan. MEE6 on the other hand has really slick features most of which you gotta go premium for. The learning curve for Carl felt steeper. I think MEE6 is more beginner friendly and a couple of other differences. They have similar functions but trust me, for proper community management, they don't and shouldn't clash. Kudos to the developers of both. Neat stuff. Currently using and understanding both. To my fellow Community Managers: Carl or MEE6, which one does your server run on? To every other person which of em do you prefer?
