Bitcoin is a powerful platform for tokenizing high-value assets, especially digital art. OCM Genesis is a good example. 10,000 unique artworks were inscribed on Bitcoin in Inscription 20219, and tokenized using Ordinals, each bound to a specific satoshi. The tokenization was done in the most clear on-chain way possible: 10,000 artworks → 10,000 sequential Block 9 sats. On the same sats: • the original PFP art (Genesis) • an abstract generative work (Deconstructed) • a synthesis of the two (Perspectives) Each token (or sat) carries multiple works. Finally, the conceptual work, OCM Certificate of Ownership, links each sat to an off-chain asset, similar to real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. Art on Bitcoin 🧡

I wrote “Art on Bitcoin — A New Culture on the Rise” in February. Then Ordinals bottomed and so did sentiments. It's early, earlier than many had hoped.
