It was my pleasure to welcome H.E. Dr. Fatumanava-o-Upolu III Pa’olelei Luteru, Permanent Representative of #Samoa to @Eritrea_UN. We discussed ongoing processes @UN, as well as upcoming elections and multilateral priorities. As a Small Island Developing State, #Samoa faces acute challenges related to climate change, environmental vulnerability, and sustainable development. #Eritrea, as a coastal state with more than 300 islands along the #RedSea, also shares many of these concerns, particularly regarding climate resilience, marine ecosystems, and sustainable stewardship of coastal resources. Our exchange reaffirmed the importance of solidarity and cooperation among member states in addressing shared global challenges through dialogue and multilateral engagement.

#Eritrea’s Agricultural Development Over the Past 35 Years: Advancements in Water Reservoir Construction and Livestock Development (Part I) by Ermias Solomon - MoA Public Relations Division *"... Over the past 35 years of independence, Eritrea has made remarkable progress in transforming its agricultural sector through sustained investment in water resource development; soil and water conservation, and livestock production. These achievements, realized through the Government’s own efforts and in collaboration with development partners, have played a decisive role in improving food security, strengthening rural livelihoods, and enhancing the resilience of farming communities across the country". *"...As Eritrea celebrates 35 years of independence, these milestones stand as clear evidence of what can be achieved through visionary leadership, community participation, and unwavering national determination. The progress registered over the past three and a half decades provides a solid platform for further advances in agricultural development and for ensuring a more prosperous future for all Eritreans". shabait.com/2026/05/11/eri…

Potemkin Party zealots and minions continue to ramp up their wholesale, defamatory, media campaigns against Eritrea by peddling and recycling abject lies (Horn Review; IFA etc.), on its governance architecture and disparaging its economic policy approaches and realities. Truth is, these incessant campaigns invariably stem from, and are principally pursued, in order to deflect attention from the chronic internal security quagmire that is afflicting the country as well as to camouflage & rationalize the grave threat to regional stability its misguided agenda of "sovereign access to the sea" has engendered. Indeed, as the figures below illustrate, its economic predicaments remain extremely dire in spite of massive financial injections, and perennial "safety nets and bailouts" by its multilateral and bilateral donors. (Aggregate donor support to Ethiopia in the last three decades amounts to a whopping 84 billion US$). The country is also seething under spiraling conflicts and centrifugal forces that stem from deep-rooted governance deficits that the PP has exacerbated. These are, indeed, the poignant realities that the Potemkin Party should grapple with instead of stoking internal and regional conflicts in pursuit of its costly and elusive pipe-dreams.

$52 Billion in Debt, Millions Lost to Corruption This Year: Ethiopians Demand Answers ETHIOPIA ― 💥The country's debt crisis is deepening. The Ministry of Finance says domestic debt has climbed to $18.3 billion US dollars, pushing total public debt to 51.8 billion US dollars at a time when the government is struggling to fund reforms, repay creditors, and cope with shrinking foreign support. Finance Minister Ahmed Shide disclosed the figures during a presentation to parliament’s Planning, Budget and Finance Affairs Standing Committee his ministry’s 9 month performance. What shocked many Ethiopians even more was a separate government audit showing that over 98 billion birr, close to $700 million US dollars, vanished through corruption linked to government officials in just 9 months, as reported by @TheReporterET. For a country already buried under nearly $52 billion dollars in debt, the scale of corruption has fueled public anger and despair. The report triggered strong public reaction, with many Ethiopians blaming rampant corruption, poor fiscal policy, and economic mismanagement by PM Abiy Ahmed for worsening poverty and making the rising cost of living increasingly unbearable. #Ethiopia

Mischaracterizations Surrounding Prospects for Eritrea–United States Rapprochement Embassy of the State of Eritrea Washington DC 29 April 2026 *"...While the (Wall Street Journal) article acknowledges Eritrea’s strategic importance in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea corridor, it advances selective narratives with the evident intention of undermining the timely opportunity for constructive engagement. Indeed, and in the same vein, certain, self-styled, pundits have subsequently reverted to alarmist interpretations across media and social platforms, recycling discredited claims and attempting to cast unwarranted doubt on any positive trajectory in Eritrea–U.S. relations. Such commentaries are neither objective nor constructive; essentially, they represent hired lobbyist advocacies disguised as 'independent' analysis". *"...Eritrea has consistently upheld territorial integrity, international law, and peaceful coexistence. Its regional policy has been guided by, and is anchored on, legitimate security considerations and a clear commitment to stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea basin. The repeated efforts by some voices to suggest otherwise, often in inflammatory tones, amount to little more than noise intended to distract from substantive policy discussions". shabait.com/2026/04/29/mis…

Sovereignty vs. Hegemonic Ambition: Ethiopia’s Expansionist Quest for Outlet to the Sea Ministry of Foreign Affairs Research and Documentation Division 29 April 2026 The PP's deliberate conflation of commercial needs with territorial expansion – shifting from commercial 'access', to claims of 'ownership' ... to challenging 'the very legitimacy of Eritrean statehood' is not a matter of economic necessity and/or securing digital privacy. It is, rather, an obsolete hegemonic aspiration deeply woven into the very nature of the current Ethiopian regime. Such a stance represents a flagrant violation of international law and the African Union’s core principle on the sanctity of inherited colonial borders". shabait.com/2026/04/29/sov…

Press Statement Mischaracterizations Surrounding Prospects for Eritrea-United States #Rapprochement The #Embassy of the State of #Eritrea in Washington, D.C. takes note of the recent article published by The Wall Street Journal on prospects for resetting relations between Eritrea and the United States. While the article acknowledges Eritrea's strategic importance in the #Horn of #Africa and the #RedSea corridor, it advances selective narratives with the evident intention of undermining the timely opportunity for constructive engagement. Indeed, and in the same vein, certain, self-styled, pundits have subsequently reverted to alarmist interpretations across media and social platforms, recycling discredited claims and attempting to cast unwarranted doubt on any positive trajectory in Eritrea-U.S. relations. Such commentaries are neither objective nor constructive; essentially, they represent hired lobbyist advocacies disguised as "independent" analysis. A fundamental reality must be recognized. Decades of pressure, sanctions, and isolation have not produced positive outcomes, neither for #US policy objectives nor for regional stability. There is now increasing acknowledgment, even within U.S. policy circles, that a shift towards engagement, rather than misplaced and unwarranted coercion, is both necessary and overdue. Attempts by some commentators to portray this shift as dangerous reveal more about entrenched biases than about actual conditions on the ground. The persistence of such narratives, often repeated loudly on social media without evidence, reflects a deliberate effort to obstruct progress rather than inform public understanding. Eritrea's position has been consistent and principled. Since independence, it has pursued a policy anchored in #sovereignty, non-interference, and an independent development policy that eschews structural and perpetual dependency. Eritrea does not subscribe to dependency-based models. Instead, it promotes mutually beneficial partnerships rooted in trade, investment, and respect for national ownership of development priorities; an approach aligned with evolving global trends. Attempts by certain analysts to caricature this policy orientation only expose a lack of seriousness and analytical rigor. Assertions that improved relations would embolden instability lack credibility. Eritrea has consistently upheld territorial integrity, international law, and peaceful coexistence. Its regional policy has been guided by, and is anchored on, legitimate security considerations and a clear commitment to stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea basin. The repeated efforts by some voices to suggest otherwise, often in inflammatory tones, amount to little more than noise intended to distract from substantive policy discussions. Equally flawed is the narrative that lifting unilateral U.S. sanctions would have negative consequences. These measures were unwarranted, selectively applied, and counterproductive. They neither advanced peace nor served strategic interests. Their continued defense by a narrow circle of commentators, despite clear evidence of their legality and utility, raises questions about the motivation behind such positions. As pronounced on several occasions, Eritrea has always been keen to cultivate a respectful, forward-looking, and constructive engagement based on mutual respect, non-coercion, and sovereign equality. The path forward requires moving beyond ineffective policies and dismissing unproductive narratives, particularly those amplified by the whimsical intent of certain individuals bent on derailing progress. A balanced, fact-based, approach will better serve both nations and contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.

HAHAHAHAHAAAAA! @_hudsonc finally stopped hiding his alliance with Potemkin #Ethiopia’s propaganda machine (IFA/Horn Review). I’m not sure why so many are surprised to see Hudson in Ethiopia, engaging in talks with the Potemkin Ethiopia regime. What is truly baffling is that the very people who claim to know or understand the region’s nuances are the ones caught off guard. In reality, this is nothing more than the mutually assured desperation of two flailing groups--one grasping for cash and attention, and the other for survival. The fact that the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) chose to highlight the "Red Sea" during this meeting is almost poetic in its irony. I, for one, saw the tell-tale signs as early as December 2025 and January of this year. Hudson suddenly began flirting with government propaganda outlets like Horn Review and the IFA, posting half-hearted commentaries. He attempted to align himself with their nonsensical narratives regarding Potemkin Ethiopia’s maritime ambitions, essentially diplomatic doublespeak for Abiy Ahmed’s desire to invade Eritrea for its Red Sea ports, all while maintaining a shallow veneer of "discomfort." It is also important to remember that Hudson has long been in the crosshairs of Potemkin Ethiopia's paymasters in Abu Dhabi. This likely made the outreach a delicate maneuver; perhaps it took them six months to find their rhythm and strike a deal. Ultimately, Abu Dhabi is the one footing the bill for whatever "services" Hudson agrees to perform for the Abiy Ahmed regime. That said, Hudson surely managed to butter his bread, even if the butter came from a sinking ship.

The commotion of the usual, faint-hearted, Conflict Entrepreneurs (እፍሊ ሓንጨመንጪ) is appalling indeed. This attitude is glaringly evident/manifested, especially this week, both in its condescending variant as well as in their pretentious posturing when they act as "Viceroys" who have the "prerogative and authority" to determine the political affairs, destiny, and international relations of Eritrea in particular and the Horn of Africa region broadly. Eritrea will not, of course, be derailed by the perennial ill-will of these inconsequential detractors and it will, as ever, pursue its positive and constructive policies of cultivating and consolidating its regional and global ties of cooperation and partnership on the basis of mutual interests and shared objectives.

This shameless false equivalence of how Black British (Christians, Jews, Muslims etc) are treated versus White British Jews exemplifies it to a Tee. If only Black British were treated like White British Jews our lived experiences would be vastly improved.
