@DFisman Someone I know who works for McKinsey told me that she doesn’t think public libraries should exist. She felt she shouldn’t be supporting other people’s “leisure activities”. I believe she’s done very well, professionally.

Glad to see other journalists are digging now. As noted previously McKinsey was neck deep in the OxyContin scandal. I'm not sure the regard displayed for human life in that instance should have made the company a go-to for involvement in a subsequent public health crisis.

This is a vital point! Why would we expect that internationally educated nurses will stay in toxic work environments? The staffing deficit is not a simple supply-side issue. People do not want to do this job when it’s unsafe and demoralizing.
