Glad that AF is recognized by the Nobel, but “structures determined using AlphaFold2”is misleading, should say predicted instead of determined. Just worried that people will assume AF predicted structures are 100% accurate

This year’s chemistry laureates Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have developed an AI model, AlphaFold2, to solve a 50-year-old problem: predicting proteins’ complex structures. Check out two examples of protein structures determined using AlphaFold2. First up, a bacterial enzyme that causes antibiotic resistance. Every 6 seconds, someone dies from an antibiotic-resistant infection. Today, on day 242 of the year, over 3.2 million people have already been lost to #AMR. That's the equivalent of 85 plane crashes per day every day. Everybody should be talking about this.
