When I was in high school, I became completely obsessed with Dragon Ball Z characters and started drawing every day. We had a small old LED TV at home, much thinner than the really old TVs from brands like Samsung and Sansui. Surprisingly, it supported USBs, so I used to download my favorite DBZ wallpapers and artworks, then ask my brother to put them on the TV so I could trace them directly from the screen. The screen already had a lot of cracks, and my mother used to scold me all the time for using it like that haha, but I was so passionate about drawing that I just kept practicing anyway. I spent countless hours tracing, studying, and learning until I finally got my own phone after high school. Over time, I became so familiar with the art style that I could draw DBZ characters directly without tracing. Akira Toriyama and Dragon Ball had a huge influence on me as an artist. Looking back now, those memories feel very nostalgic, and it honestly surprises me how far I’ve come since those days.
