I must ask: how do you see this NPC from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald??? I always interpreted it as the guy on the left with white eyes/glasses and dark eyebrows, but looking at his side profile and other sprites, I realize now it might be the one on the right

it's also worth noting that the visual style is to represent the characters in the overworld having very simple dark dots for eyes unless they are wearing glasses. The interpretation of the one on the left would make him the only NPC with eyebrows in the overworld...
